Doug Browne - Director of Tennis
We are very pleased to welcome Doug Browne as the new Director of Tennis at The Boathouse. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Doug Browne is currently the Director of Tennis at the Hideaway Beach Club on Marco Island, FL. Doug has earned the Naples, Florida USPTA Pro of the Year honors in 2006 and again in 2010. During the summer of 2010 he was appointed the Director of Tennis at the prestigious Hall of Fame in Newport, RI and has held the title of Executive Director/President of the Collier County Community Tennis Association since 1998.
Doug Browne is no stranger to teaching all levels of tennis and he has a strong appetite for junior tennis development and adult clinics. In addition to Doug’s appointment as The Boathouse Director of Tennis, Doug’s wife Leslie will also be joining our tennis department. Leslie was a highly successful Division 1 tennis standout from the University of New Mexico. Originally from Fairfield, CT, Leslie has played at all levels of tennis, including at the collegiate and professional level. She brings a great deal of experience and passion for ladies clinics, kids’ clinics and retail.
Doug and Leslie will begin working at the Club on May 1, 2011 and they are looking forward to getting to know all of or members and growing the Tennis Program at the Club.
