Kid’s Club – Ages 3-5
Our Junior Members will enjoy a varied schedule with present activities designed to encourage development of teamwork,social skills and having fun while exploring new activities.
Week 1: June 26-June 30
Martha’s Vineyard Explorers
Welcome back to Martha’s Vineyard junior members! We have a lot planned for you this summer, so get ready to have some fun! Have you ever wondered how Martha’s Vineyard came to be? Who were the first people on the island or why it is called Martha’s Vineyard? During this week, we will explore the island, the towns, the beaches, lighthouses and all it has to offer. So let’s get ready for an exciting action-packed week of camp!
Week 2: July 3-July 7
Party in the U.S.A.
Get ready to have a rockin’ week in the U.S.A! We will be exploring our “inner patriot” while representing the red, white, and blue. Make sure you bring your spirit this week because we will be making firecracker noise makers, U.S.A. bracelets, writing letters to active-duty marines and soldiers, and practice some patriotic word building! As we celebrate 4th of July this week, we will be having a party in the U.S.A.!
Week 3: July 10-July 14
Pirate’s of the Vineyard
Shiver me timbers! It’s about time we get this dock werkin’ to set sail! Brace your sea legs for a high sea’s learning adventure! We will be on a quest to find our buried treasure chest on our hunt around the Field Club. Make sure you keep your eyes open for the mighty “X” that marks the spot! Bring your best pirate spirit as we will be making parrots, eye patches and creating messages in bottles that we will set off to sea! Where there is a sea, there are pirates! Argghhh!
Week 4: July 17-July 21
Moovin’ and Groovin’
Grab those dancin’ shoes and turn up that music! Join us this week as we move and groove with our maraca shakers, air guitars, harmonicas and much more! We will be playing musical chairs and keeping our tradition alive with creating this season’s version of the Kid’s Club music video! Junior Members will get to explore different styles of music that include Latin, jazz, rock, and classical genres that will be played with instruments in small groups. They will also have to work together to come up with their own song to perform! Let’s Rock N Roll!
Week 5: July 24-July 28
Book your Adventure
Do you love to read?Better yet, do you wish you could live out one of your favorite books!? You’ll love all these books filled with adventure that we have in store for you, from Charlotte’s Web to Goodnight Moon. The kids will have the opportunity to play crazy games from Dr. Seuss’ books such as The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Junior Members will be making a giant caterpillar because what better way to retell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! They will also get to create their own monster and make their own wild things when reading Where the Wild Things Are. You’re not going to want to miss this adventure!
Week 6: July 31_August 4
Dig Dinosaur Dig
Did you hear the big news! A dinosaur fossil was found at The Boathouse Club in the field by kid’s club! What are the odds?! What kind of dinosaur do you think it is? How long ago did it live? Do you think there are other fossils near by? We will journey back 60 million years ago to learn about the time when dinosaurs roamed planet Earth! We will try to discover the Lost World where The Boathouse dinosaur lived
Week 7: August 7-August 11
Dream until your Dreams come true!
What do you want to be when you grow up? Is it an actor, musician, astronaut, police officer, veterinarian, or a doctor? What about owning your own restaurant, teaching your favorite subject, or surveying the scene as a detective? Get ready to have a week filled with different opportunities of starting those dreams! Kids can grow up to be anything they want, dream until your dreams come true!
Week 8: August 14-August 18
ATTENTION: SUPERHERO’S WANTED! Requirements: Must be under the age of 6. Awesome attitude. Wear a costume. Pilot test vehicles and be willing to fly. Must be a team player and may need to work with radioactive spiders. Possibly have X-ray vision. Communication skills must be solid to communicate with reporters from the MV Times. Apply within.
Week 9: August 21-August 25
The Final Countdown
Join us in our last week of kid’s club for our celebration of the 2017 season! Our Junior Members will have an all-camp event that will bring out the true champion in each camper! We will say “see you next summer” with a friendly competition centered around colors of the rainbow! Towards the end of the week, we will be having a show and tell and end our week with a slide show of our whole entire summer! Parents are welcomed/encouraged to join!
