Kids’ Club – Ages 3-5
Our Junior Members will enjoy a varied schedule with present activities designed to encourage development of teamwork,social skills and having fun while exploring new activities.
Week 1: June 25-June 29
Welcome back to Martha’s Vineyard Junior members! We have a lot planned for you this summer, so get ready to have some fun!We’ll start off our summer by learning about everything Martha’s Vineyard has to offer! During this week, we will be playing ocean games, making sea crafts, and have a wonderful time talking about our island home!
Week 2: July 2-July 6
U.S.A. Hip, Hip, Hooray
Three cheers for the red, white and blue! Let’s see your best patriotic spirit during this week you DON’T want to miss! We will be making firecracker noise makers, U.S.A. bracelets, strawberry-banana-blueberry kabobs, playing some classic 4th of July games, and of course having a pie throwing contest, and a watermelon roll derby! As we celebrate 4th of July this week we can’t wait to have a grand ol’ time with you all
Week 3: July 9-July 13
What’s that? Winter in the Summer time? You betcha!! We’re bringing the winter weather back to Martha’s Vineyard, but for only one week! During this week we will be making snowmen dressed for the summer, visiting the new Martha’s Vineyard Ice Rink, making gingerbread houses and of course making some awesome ornaments!! It’s S’winter time in the summer, but leave those coats at home
Week 4: July 16-July 20
Super Hero Training
Do you have what it takes to be a superhero? This week we are looking for the TOP superheroes on Martha’s Vineyard. Requirements: Must be under the age of 6. Awesome attitude. Can rock a costume. Have Boathouse Spirit. Pilot test vehicles and be willing to fly. Smile. Must be a team player and may need to work with radioactive bugs. Possibly have X-ray vision. Communication skills must be solid to communicate with reporters from the MV Times. Apply within
Week 5: July 23-July 27
Have you seen the Boathouse Dinosaur?
Did you hear the big news? A dinosaur fossil was found at The Boathouse Club! What are the odds?! What kind of dinosaur do you think it is? What should we name it? How long has it been there? Do you think there are other fossils nearby? We will journey back millions of years to learn about the time when dinosaurs roamed planet Earth! This week we will discover as much as we can about The Boathouse Dinosaur!
Week 6: July 30- August 3
Boathouse Pirates and Mermaids
Where are all of our Boathouse pirates and mermaids at? Shiver me timbers! It’s about time we get this dock werkin’ to set sail! Brace your sea legs and mermaid tails for a high sea’s learning adventure! We will be on a quest at the Field Club to find the treasure chest with all of our mermaid’s jewels. Make sure you keep your eyes open for the mighty “X” that marks the spot! Bring your best pirate/mermaid spirit as we will be making parrots, eye patches, crowns, mermaid tails, and bracelets and creating messages in bottles that we will set off to sea! Argghhh! Wish us luck on our voyage!
Week 7: August 6-August 10
All Aboard! We’re going on a Safari ride!
Look out! Is that an elephant roaming around, or a zebra relaxing in the grass? Oh wait, do you see the lions laying on the rocks, or the monkeys hanging in the trees? This week we will be learning some facts about animals and going on a safari adventure! The Island Alpacas and the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary will pay the Field Club a visit with some cool animals for us to meet!
Week 8: August 13-August 17
When I grow up, I want to be…
What do you want to be when you grow up? Is it an actor? Or maybe a musician, or an astronaut, police officer, veterinarian, or a doctor? What about owning your own restaurant, teaching your favorite subject, or surveying the scene as a detective? Get ready to have a week filled with different opportunities for starting those dreams! Kids can grow up to be anything they want to be, so don’t miss this week of fun!
Week 9: August 20-August 24
Did you love all of the fun activities we did this summer ? Join us in our last week of Kids’ Club for our celebration of the 2018 season! Junior Members will have the chance to rewind their summer and pick out their favorite activities and relive them one more time! Whether it’s making animals and going on a safari ride, being a superhero, finding our dinosaur or having another day of s’winter, Junior Members will have a say in what they want to do! Towards the end of the week we will end our amazing summer with a slide show of our whole entire time together! Families are welcome and encouraged to attend! A light breakfast will be provided!
